Cleo Michelle performs a wide range of music styles, always catering and tailoring her set to suit the event. She enjoys playing pop, R & B, classical, jazz, and standards. She is always expanding and adding to her set list to keep with what's current and popular. Her repertoire is unique and vast and flows from one genre to the next. She enjoys playing instrumentals on the piano, but is also great at accompanying herself and highlighting her vocals.
Cleo Michelle began playing as soon as she could sit in front of the piano. She began private lessons at around age six and continues to study and pursue music. She is great at learning songs by ear, but also plays by reading sheet music and charts.
Cleo Michelle also enjoys playing her guitar. “I’m quite a novice on the guitar, but I enjoy it very much. I can play basic chords and accompany myself while singing.” She also recently started to learn how to play the bass guitar. In addition, she loves to play simple percussive instruments with her musical friends in a band setting.
She plays piano and sings lead vocals and harmonies in a number of duos and trios, primarily covering pop music. She performs the role of lead female vocalist in a number of jazz duos and trios, including The Calumet Ridge Jazz Ensemble. Cleo plays keyboard in the band, “Natalie Gaza and the Post Op Trance”, adding her own nuances to the original music of Natalie Gaza.
